Bright Autumn Festival

Running from April 28th to May 7th

Celebrating Alpine life in the valleys. The Bright Autumn Festival is a ten day celebration of the wonderful autumn colours and autumn produce of the valleys of Victoria's Alpine High Country.

This year it takes place from Friday April 28, 2017 to Sunday May 7th 2017. The highlight is the Gala Weekend with a market, music in the streets and a grand parade on Saturday 6th May 2017.

The theme for the 2017 parade is "Living in the 90s" which can cover anything from 1990s, 1890s or even the 1790s. Music, fashion, movies, literature, or all possible themes for floats in this year's parade.

Open Gardens

Fourteen wonderful gardens are on display. Enjoy their splendid autumn colours and be inspired by their diverse styles and designs. A range of exotic and rare trees, ornamental plantings, and gardens directed towards sustainable food sources are there to welcome you. Meet the gardeners; learn about their methods and ideas. Some offer a chance to enjoy tea/coffee, local produce or a light lunch.

The Bright 2017 Instameet is our 2nd Autumn instameet for photographers keen to shoot, share and find out all the best locations to capture the ultimate Autumn colours in Bright and surrounding towns. We had a lot of fun last year and there were some amazing shots that came out of it so we are keen to go again. The dates for this year's instameet are Friday 28th April till Sunday 30th April.

The festival is a time of beautiful autumn colours and the harvesting of wonderful produce, an ideal time to get the camera out, socialize and explore this region with fellow Instagrammers.

Hosted by @brightandsurrounds, @brightmystic and @brightbeerjames who will share their local knowledge of some of the superb photo opportunities in the region, it promises to be a fun weekend and a great opportunity to meet other Instagrammers. Plenty of other events fall on this weekend as part of the festival including the Wandiligong Nut Festival.
