Paragliding + Air Adventures

The Bright area is world renowned for its great ‘air’, ideal for paragliding.  You can take a tandem introductory paragliding flight or start a beginners’ course that will take you to flying with the birds by yourself.  Hangliding is also a poplar sport where you can learn to fly and enjoy the views from far above.

Both sports have the same favourite launching spot at Mystic Hill in Bright.  Many paragliders and hangliders can be seen taking off from this hill when the weather is suitable, usually from spring to autumn and landing in the landing area on Morses Creek Road.  When competitions take place in summer the paragliders are like swarms of brightly coloured bees taking off from Mystic Hill and other launching spots as they make their way round the competition courses.

Porepunkah airfield a short drive from Bright down the Buckland Valley is the place where you can do your own flying in the company of a professional.  Microlighting flights and scenic planes flights take off from this scenic airstrip to show you the sights of the valley and high country.
